Molly Goodenbour

Former American Basketball league and WNBA player Molly Goodenbour begins her first season as an assistant coach at Sacramento State. Goodenbour will work extensively with the point guards and help with recruiting. She will also oversee Sacramento State individual camps that run during the summer.

A member of the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs in 1999, the 28-year old former point guard played intercollegiately at Stanford from 1989-93. After graduating in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in human biology, Goodenbour played for the USA Basketball National Team that won gold at the 1993 Pan-American games. The Waterloo, Iowa, native served as an assistant coach for the University of San Francisco during the 1994-95 season before playing professionally in Sweden for the Linkoping Dambasket in 1995-96. Goodenbour also played two seasons in the ABL with the Portland Power and Richmond Rage before moving on to the WNBA. As a member of the Monarchs in 1999, Goodenbour missed the entire season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in training camp.

While playing collegiately at Stanford, Goodenbour was named first team All.American by three publications and first team all-Pac 10 as a senior, averaging 13.2 points and 5.9 assists while setting the Stanford single-season mark for three-pointers (74). During her four years with the Cardinal, the team went a combined 114-16 and won two NCAA national championships (1990, 1992), four Pac 10 titles and appeared in the Final Four three times. As a sophomore, Goodenbour was named Final Four Most Outstanding Player and the NCM West Regional Most Outstanding Player.

On Stanford's career records' list, Goodenbour ranks fourth in three-pointers (178), fifth in assists (441), sixth in free throw percentage (.793, 184-232) and 20th in points (1,040). A career .390 three-point shooter with the Cardinal, Goodenbour was named both the Midwest Regional and State of Iowa High School Player of the Year as a senior at Waterloo West High School.

Currently finishing her master's degree in kinesiology, Goodenbour's husband, Pasquale Fuscaldo, is the men's basketball coach at Sonoma State.
