April Ranney

As a sophomore (1999-00): Played in 15 games including one start...averaged 6.1 minutes per contest...scored four points and grabbed four rebounds at USC...played in 12 of the team's first 14 games...was one of two Hornets named to the Big Sky all-academic team.

As a freshman (1998-99): Played in all but two games as a freshman, starting six times as both a center and power forward...averaged 13.2 minutes per game...third on the squad with 29 offensive rebounds...second on the team in field goal percentage (29- 74, .392)...third on the team in blocked shots. ..led the Hornets with eight rebounds vs. Navy on Nov. 19...scored a team-high eight points at Nevada on Nov. 21...also scored eight points vs. Northern Arizona and San Jose State.

High School: A 1998 graduate of West Valley High School in Hemet, Calif...played four years of basketball under head coach Kathleen Alvarez at West Valley at both the forward and center positions...three time all-league and all-county selection...named San Jacinto Valley Player of the Year in 1998...averaged 16 points per game in her junior season...also competed for two years in volleyball as a middle blocker at West Valley HS where she was an all-League selection as a senior.

Personal: Born June 27, 1980...a biological science major with a 3.31 GPA...brother, Kaleb Ranney, played for the Sacramento State men's basketball team in 1997-98...daughter of Don and Pat Ranney.
