As a sophomore (2001-02): Appeared in the first 22 games of the season
(including 21 starts) before missing the final five contests with a
lower back injury...was the team’s leading rebounder at 6.5 per contest
and third-leading scorer with 8.4 points per game...her rebounds per
game were the 10th-best mark in the Big Sky...averaged 33.2 minutes
per game...notched double figures in rebounds three times, including a
career-high 16 vs. San Jose State...grabbed 12 rebounds against Montana
State and 10 vs. Gonzaga...recorded double figures in points nine
times...scored a career-high 21 points at San Diego, and 19 at Northern
Arizona...played all 40 minutes in two games, and at least 35 minutes in
11 contests...led the Hornets in rebounding 12 times, including a streak
of seven-consecutive games (Nov. 30-Jan. 2)...also led the team in scoring
three times...averaged 10.3 points and 5.9 rebounds against Big
Sky Conference competition.
Junior College: Played basketball for one season (2000-01) at Lassen
College in Susanville, Calif...played both the forward and guard
positions...a first team all-Golden Valley Conference selection and a member
of the all-freshman team after posting 13.5 points and 8.5 rebounds
per game...led the team to a Golden Valley championship including a
perfect 10-0 conference record.
High School: A 2000 graduate of Carson High School in Nevada...played
four years of basketball and three seasons of volleyball...in basketball,
she was named first team all-conference all four years...named the 4A
co-Player of the Year in 1998...broke the 16-year old career scoring
record at Carson High by posting 1,716 points...as a senior, Thurman
averaged 15.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 0.8 blocked shots
per game...recorded a .482 (170-353) field goal percentage and a .787
(48-61) free throw percentage during that same season.
