Shlomi's Israel Report Number 15

Ramat-Hasharon won the Israeli cup (the 2nd important title in Israel) after beating Bney yehuda 64 - 56 in the finals.

24 hours before the game Ramat-Hasharon added Tanja Kostic to their roster. Kostic was released from the falling apart Karmiel.

The atmosphere was great, the place was packed, but it was an ugly game. The first quarter ended 13 : 13. In the opening of second quarter Ramat-Hasharon ran 13 - 0 and that run actaully closed the game.

The scond half result was 37 - 21 (24 - 8 in the second quarter).

In the third quarter Bney Yehuda woke up, but also Ina Gourevich who returned a basket on each basket of Bney Yheuda. Bney Yeuhda kept passing the ball insided to Stacey Ford and Travessa Gantwho both did a god job. 48 - 41 to Ramat-hasharon in the 3rd quarter.

Bney Yehuda's problem was her outside shooter. Rosova had 1 - 7 from behind the arc; Klein had 0 - 2; Gant 2 - 7. The only one who hit the triples was Boutenko with 3 from 4 but it wasn't enough.

Ramat-Hasharon went much more to the line (24 times vs 10- times for Bney yehuda) the game ended 64 - 56 to Ramat-Hasharon.

Some News
Elizur Holon signed Limor Mizrachi and released Sandra Pesic. They also released Leslie Johnson and signed Quacy Barnes. Both Barnes and Mizrachi was released together with Kostic from Karmiel.

Karmiel will stay with Ira Chashivon, Penny Moore and Inbal Zionov. Rinat Zaltz was also released. She signed in Hapoel Haifa from the 2nd div.

And thats not all, Maccabi Raanana released Biljana Stosic and signed Sandra Pesic.

Galil Elyon Coach, Noa Rekanati was fired. The new coach is Dani Nahminovich.
