The early qualifying round of the Europe Cup is now over, Ramat
Hasharon
defeated Migros of Turkey 78-61 on Thursday and finished with a 6-0
record
in group A of Conference south. Gunta Basko led the way with 22 pts
(9/15
FGs, 1/2 FTs) & 12 rebounds (8 offensives), Natasha Baratskova had 13
pts &
Octavia Blue added 12. Lenae Williams is not on the team's Europe Cup
roster.
The draw for the Pan European stage took place yesterday. The 24 teams
were
devided into 6 groups of 4. Ramat Hasharon will play in group F, along
with
Alessandria Delta Basket of Italy, Slavia Sofia of Bulgaria, and
Vojodina
Nis-Gas of Serbia.
Sofia finished the early stage in 2nd place in group C of confernece
south
with a 3-3 record. Vojodina Nis-Gas finished 1st in group D of
confernece
south with a 4-2 record. Alessandira finished 2nd in group C of
conference
west with a 4-2 record. Asjha Jones of the Washington Mystics plays for
Alessandria, and is the only WNBA player among Ramat Hasharon's
opponents.
Each team will play 6 games, twice against every opponent both home &
away.
The first game is on the 11th of December. The 6 teams who finish first
in
their group along with two runners up who had the best records out of
the
teams who finished 2nd will advance to the Quarter Finals stage. The

finals is a best of 3 series, the 4 winners advance to the Final Four.
